Where it's located:
Windows at: C:/windows/system32/drivers/etc/hosts
Linux at: /etc/hosts
You can't edit it under Windows without Administration rights. You can copy it out on your Desktop, edit it and paste it again into the folder.
An example is:
172.0.0.1 google.com
Address Domain
