In Chapter 4 of Edinburgh is a Story, Canadian-Ukrainian conductor Keri-Lynn Wilson leads the Ukrainian Freedom Orchestra and soprano Liudmyla Monastyrska in a performance of 'Abscheulicher, komm Hoffnung' from Beethoven's opera Fidelio as part of our At Home programme in partnership with abrdn.
Coming together to demonstrate the power of art over adversity with a hopeful song about the power of faithfulness and love, the performance takes place in the Scottish Parliament Building, reflecting Edinburgh's position as a twinned city of Kyiv.
