24fps vs 30fps - Best Frame Rate Settings for Youtube
In this video, we explore the best frame rate to render/export when uploading your YouTube videos. We took footage from a Canon Rebel T4i and rendered the footage at different frame rate settings in Premiere Pro CS: 24fps vs 29.97fps, 24fps vs 30fps, 24fps vs 25fps, and 29.97fps vs 30fps.

I've always been curious what the difference is between 24 fps and 30 fps when uploading videos on YouTube. Which frame rate looks best? 24 fps is supposed to look more cinematic & film-like. 29.97 fps and 30 fps are supposed to look more like traditional video.
I decided to do a test. I took footage from the Canon Rebel T4i (shot at 29.97 fps) and exported the same footage at several different frame rates. Then I used an mp4 combiner to combine all the footage into a single video so people can see the difference for themselves.
In my opinion, the footage rendered at 24fps and 25fps looks more like film -- definitely not as smooth as the same footage rendered at 29.97fps or 30fps. Even with these differences between frame rates, how you render your footage will ultimately depend on the type and style of your video (movie, music video, home-video, documentary, etc).
