What if the skill that was supposed to save you is the same skill that ruined you?
This is the story of a nineteen-year-old graphic design major working the closing shift at a campus dining hall for nine-fifty an hour. He can match fonts by eye and color-correct a photo in thirty seconds. One night his roommate loses a fake ID at a bar and asks if he can make a new one. He's joking. By four AM the first template is done. By Monday eleven people are in his DMs. By month four he's producing thirty IDs a week with scannable barcodes, holographic overlays from Shenzhen, and a brand called Ghosts that he never named.
From a dorm room inkjet to a dye-sublimation printer. From one roommate's favor to three resellers on three campuses. From a shoe box with four thousand dollars to twenty thousand eight hundred a month. From a calculus textbook that nobody opens to a federal building in Jacksonville that nobody leaves.
