Synopsis: When Jacob, the headmaster of a school, is ordered to accommodate over 500 German civilian refugees in the final days of the occupation, he and his wife Lis face a dilemma. If they help the refugees, they will be considered traitors. However, if they don't help, many will die. At the same time, they discover that their 12-year-old son has begun helping the resistance movement. The family is pushed to the limit, and Jacob and Lis must now make a choice that will change their lives forever.
