Apartment - through the courts. How will housing be distributed to orphans in 2018?
Orphans in Balakovo, who were on the housing waiting list, received a nice New Year's gift – they were allocated 31 apartments using the old method of distribution, by lottery. However, the Saratov Regional Duma recently amended the law, thereby abolishing the lottery. Now, apartments will be allocated based on the date of registration. However, orphans will still have to litigate for their apartments – a long and arduous process. This is where lawyers come in. Balakovo lawyer Alexander Chebotarev, who helps orphans defend their housing rights, provided clarification on the new law.
