This video focuses on the restoration of my 1930s Joseph evans lion 831 stationary engine driven water pump.
Last year I purchased the water pump from a local farm dispersal sale, the pump was seized solid and covered in a thick layer of rust. however it didn't have any frost damage which was good.
Throughout the next couple of months I set about restoring it in my spare time.
While restoring the pump, I was able to learn many new skills to deal with the issues I faced. these included, electrolytic rust removal, casting, woodworking and 3d printing.
during the restoration process I came across various companies that enabled the restoration to progress. These companies included:
Craftmaster paints:
Craftmaster specialize in vintage machinery paints for thing like stationary engines, traction engines, agricultural machinery, railway locomotives and even narrow boats. The paint finish that I achieved with no prior experience using a brush painting method was excellent. I cannot recommend them enough and I am definitely going to order from them again for my next restoration project (Ruston Hornsby PB6 1.5HP)

Basecamp supplies:
Basecamp specializes in old oil lamp parts, but they also produce and supply parts for old water pumps, in this case the leather cup seals. the quality of the parts they supply is outstanding and the knowledge they have is excellent.
