Casio Debuts the G-Shock GMW-B5000-TVA1 'Virtual Armor' Watch | aBlogtoWatch
New for Fall 2021 is Casio’s GMW-B5000-TVA1 'Virtual Armor' watch, the latest iteration of the GMW-B5000 Full Metal series. The 43.2mm-wide titanium case follows the classic ‘80s shape of the original G-Shock DW-5000C and adds in a technical sci-fi set of engravings that bring to mind a futuristic video game aesthetic. Casio takes the look even further by employing fully laser-bored holes straight through the titanium lug structure of the bracelets, in place of where the characteristic dimples on each link would normally be. Inside is the in-house Casio Module 3459 quartz movement - a staple of the brand’s high-end digital offerings - which offers Bluetooth mobile device compatibility, solar charging, Multi-Band 6 radio-controlled time correction six times per day, and an LED dial backlight. Like all G-Shock models, the GMWB5000TVA1 promises immense durability, along with a dive-ready 200 meters of water resistance. The Casio G-Shock GMW-B5000-TVA1 will be available through G-Shock’s e-commerce site, selected authorized retailers, and the G-Shock Soho Store in November 2021 at an MSRP of $1,650.
