1988 "Dynamic Text" Film - Part 07 - a quick technical tour
a quick technical/programming description, set to music and video
In 1988, I made this film about what I foresaw then (and still do now) as the future of textual communication. Back in the days when a "loaded" PC had 640K of memory, ran at 6 MHz, and had a 40MB hard drive, I built a real-time text animation system and authoring environment to test and predict what the future of letters and words might be.
I'm still hoping to have another go at it one of these days -- with 10,000 times the power!
