In this video, I'll show you how to knit double edge stitches. This creates a tight edge, the stitches lie flat and beautifully, and prevents the garment from curling. This technique can be used when knitting scarves and open areas (plackets, necklines, etc.).

Row 1 (RS): Slip the first stitch, knit the second stitch through the front loops (classic stitch), knit the second-to-last stitch through the front loops (classic stitch), knit the last stitch purlwise (granny stitch).
Row 2 (WS): Slip the first stitch, slip the second stitch purlwise, without knitting, yarn in front, slip the second-to-last stitch purlwise, without knitting, yarn in front, knit the last stitch purlwise. ("granny loop")
