In January 2020, Yura and I went to the Kerzhensky forests to see the old, hard-to-reach villages of Yezhovo, Yamki, and Korelskoye, as well as the now-uninhabited villages of Klyuch and Krasny Khutor. Also, near the village of Korelskoye, there used to be the Old Believer Korelsky Skete, which we also visited.
There wasn't much snow this year, and we walked almost 40 kilometers through the Nizhny Novgorod forests without any problems.
