The Shaman Ritual is evolving. The luthier Mauro Marchesini, after producing my two Shaman basses alongside Liuteria Ardo, embarked on the adaptation of the same project for the guitar. Please meet his brand new midi synth guitar!
At that point he also built me the midi arpeggiator that plays in the background.
In the setting you can also see the cello, it's not there for beauty but I'll reserve the surprise for the next video!
🔴 THE SHAMAN RITUAL
Electronics, colors, smells, gestures… all in one. The challenge of the Shaman Ritual is to compress as many musical ideas as I can get and develop in 1 minute:
• rhythm
• harmony
• melody
• timbre
• musical form
• scene
• angles
The project started by creating two NEW musical instruments (Shaman Twins) with unlimited timbre possibilities, and develops by composing and performing unique pieces of music specially designed for these two instruments.
The global approach of the ritual includes technology, composition, improvisation, playing techniques and performance in which the individual parts make up a harmonious whole. The whole is greater than the sum of the parts.
