Lesson 5.2.1 The Nucleus of the Atom: Protons
In this video you will learn about protons--one of the two particles in the central nucleus of an atom, and perhaps the most important particle in an atom. Protons give atoms their identity. If an atom has 3 protons, that atom is the metal lithium, with all of the properties that lithium has. It doesn't matter how many neutrons or electrons it has, it is still lithium.
