I've not seen many people use this technique, but its one I carry over from playing 'Cello. Usually it would be the back of the bow, but a drumstick is easier to use with guitar. 2 great things about playing with a drumstick are the extra bounce you can get for the rapid-fire notes, also unlike playing with a plectrum, you can hit as many strings as you want at the exact same time so it has a nice almost chopped sample sound to it rather than the plucking sound. You get a little bit of high pitched noise from the wood making contact with the string as it strikes too. All in all very cool IMO :) What do you think?
Equipment used:
Stix 2B Drumstick
Ernie Ball RPS Super Slinky 9-42 (2239)
Squier Vintage Modified Jaguar (modified) (CGCFAD Drop C Tuning)
