I Graduated with a CS Degree in 2024 and It’s Been a Total Nightmare

Sooooooooooooooooo, I just graduated with a CS degree At this point I thought I would have a good-paying job,a new city, and a new life. but surprise! The job market right now is a total mess

"I mean, seriously, I graduated at the worst possible time. layoffs are everywhere and it feels like all my applications are pointed to a null pointer. And to make things worse Most of the time these ENTRY level jobs are demanding. I have 3-4 years of experience.

Don't even get me started on the ATS systems. Imagine sending in the resume that you spent hours on only for a bot to decide if you’re even worthy of the next level...which, by the way, is a two-hour exam where you need a perfect score to be seen by human eyes for maybe—just maybe—five seconds..
[Talking about emotions and stuff]
When you spend hours applying for jobs and not seeing any responses it feels like working out without seeing muscle gain or even having input in why you are getting ghosted. And to make things worse, when you are scrolling though Linkedin looking for JOB applications you get posts shoved in your face by Linkedin about both everyone struggling, getting laid off and getting high paying entry level jobs. And for some reason both the negative and positive news is equally damaging for mental health for some reason.
[Reality Check]
But here’s the reality: we all have different backgrounds, resources, and opportunities. Comparing yourself to others is usually an unfair game because you’re probably missing the whole story behind their success. Remember, social media often shows a highlight, not the reality.

Knowing someone at a company can help you skip a lot of the automated screening nonsense and get your resume in front of a real person. It’s way more efficient than just spamming your resume everywhere and hoping for the best. So, don’t hesitate to reach out to your network and see if anyone can help.
if you’re feeling stuck and anxious about finding a job, just know that you’re not alone. A lot of us are in the same boat right now, and it’s okay to feel frustrated. It’s a tough journey, and it can feel isolating. And remember that it is not the end of the world if you do not have a JOB after graduation. It does not say anything about you're worth. All it says is that you are still broke.
