Can you really get Wi-Fi that reaches your iPhone from 10 miles away? Morse Micro revealed a new Wi-Fi HaLow router using 900 MHz long-range Wi-Fi—boasting up to 9.9 miles of range. But is this a game-changer for home internet, or just clever marketing?
In this video, we explain how Wi-Fi HaLow works, how it differs from Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 7, and why it's not quite ready to replace your home router. While the range sounds amazing, low bandwidth, signal interference, and extra hardware needs make this tech better for IoT, smart farming, and large outdoor properties than for home networking or mobile devices. Your iPhone or Macbook won't be able to pick up the 900MHz signal (without a dongle).
