OBS Classic only allows the recording of a single audio track which is limiting when you have multiple sources of audio mixed together and makes editing difficult to impossible. OBS Studio allows for the recording of multiple audio devices all to their own track so you can have gameplay and a microphone input on their own tracks.
It is also possible to record Skype, Discord, or other programs to their own track and this is accomplished with Virtual Audio Cables. Without a virtual cable, a person talking to you on Skype will have their voice record to the gameplay track.
