Greetings All,

This video showcases my latest effort here at Restomod Daisy, the mighty Restomod Daisy #111 Model 40/27 Slim Jim! This build was a departure for me as I have previously focused on stock sets that were as close to rifle dimensions as I could get given the the undersized receivers these guns were built on. This unit is a celebration of Daisy design circa 1925 with an upgrade to curly maple and just a bit more zip in the buttstock profile combined with as skinny a fore arm as I could get away with. I'm happy with the look.

Mechanically, the gun has been upgraded with the Restomod Sliding Spring Block that converts the action from a cock on opening to a cock on closing system courtesy of the design work pioneered by Charles F. LeFever. This mod removes the spring anchor from the design and makes swapping out power plant components a breeze compared to the stock version. It's also sporting a 7/64" overbore air tube, a new production Daisy Model 25 shot tube as well as a Cobalt 327 Super Spring which let's this little puppy hit 336 FPS on the chrony, a real thumper!

The unit is fireblued and shows a pleasing blend of colors on both sides of the receiver. It also features a current production Daisy Model 25 Flip peep sight mounted at the end of the receiver with the top stock screw. The peep sight has been drilled out to a 5/64" aperture giving it a ghost ring kind of feel. It's adjustable so it can be set up with the peep or flipped to reveal a V notch that can be further modded if so desired. It's a pretty neat sight package that provides a sight radius of 22 1/2"!

The gun measures 37 1/2" overall length, has a LOP of 14 1/2" from the center of trigger to the center of butt plate and has 2 1/2" of drop on the comb. The gun weighs in at 2 pounds, 14 ounces and is slightly muzzle heavy due to the upgraded shot tube and long forearm.

I'm curious to know the opinions of the viewership on this new model, so please leave some info in the comments!

Thanks for watching!
