This video is an excerpt from one of the summer lessons I give to my students to prepare them for the start of the school year. It focuses on applying Newton's second law to find a distance.

The analysis is conducted in an inertial frame of reference. Applying Newton's second law (or fundamental principle of dynamics), after identifying the forces acting on it, allows us to establish a vector equation between the mechanical actions and the acceleration.

This analysis is initially based on the graphs provided in the exercise and, combined with the given data, allows us to calculate the value of the driving force.

The graphical analysis allows us to find the acceleration distance AB. This distance can be calculated algebraically, disregarding the weight.

The theoretical and experimental values can then be compared. The difference in value is due to the observed frictional forces that slow the system's movement.
