Hello everyone. In this video, we'll see how to work around a bug that prevents the installation of a recent version of macOS on an older Mac. Please note that the version of macOS you want to install must still be officially supported by Apple on your old Mac. To be sure, use the MacTracker application (available on macOS).
During installation, the error message is: This copy of the Install macOS application is damaged and cannot be used to install macOS.
A misleading message that encourages you to recreate your USB drive even though it works perfectly.
Indeed, the real cause of this bug lies in a significant discrepancy between the Mac's release date and the release date of the OSX version you want to install. This leads to an expired certificate issue that triggers this error message.
