The VENLAB VM-600A is a good device for the price.

Input protection is implemented using simple fuses and a single thermistor, which is not bad for a $14 device, but it requires caution and understanding of what you're doing.
For those who say you need to buy at least a UNI-T, I want to say that Unit only has 3-4 good devices; the rest aren't much different from what you saw today, but they're very expensive.
Plus, you need to remember the realities of life.
