🟥 “ATTITUDE IS ALTITUDE” says Nick Vujicic, the famous Australian motivational speaker of Serbian origin. Although he was born without arms and legs, small in stature (99 cm), he manages to rise to heights 🔝 through ATTITUDE 😍 and amaze millions of people who listen to his speeches.
🟥 “YOUR ATTITUDE, NOT YOUR APTITUDE, WILL DETERMINE YOUR ALTITUDE” is another famous quote on the topic of ATTITUDE, attributed to Zig Ziglar, another master of communication 🗣💬.
We, Romanians, simply say: tone makes music 😉💬🎶.
The way you say something represents 80% of communication (in fact, some specialists believe that over 90% of communication is non-verbal).
Therefore, learn to pay attention to details when communicating – in general, in everyday life 🛒🙂🏦, but especially at professional meetings 💼, business meetings 💰 or at a job interview 🥸, which we keep talking about in the first chapter of the BEPO manual 📗.
Little by little 🤏, practice and learn to control the ‼️8 elements‼️ that make up non-verbal language and that “package” the actual message, the words you speak 📦💬. Essentially, they form a person’s ATTITUDE and BEHAVIOR and are the reasons why you like or dislike someone:
1️⃣. 😀 FACIAL EXPRESSION, mimicry (smile, frown 😠, bite your lips, raise an eyebrow 🤨 or both 😯, flare your nostrils, etc.)
2️⃣. 🤌 GESTURES (raise your hands 🙆♂️, point your finger ☝️, clench your fist ✊️, etc.)
3️⃣. 🗣 PARALINGUISTIC elements (tone and volume of your VOICE, speed of speech, exclamations 😲🗯, sounds, inflections – express surprise, irony, approval 👍, disagreement 👎, etc.)
4️⃣. 🙋♀️ BODY POSITION and POSTURE (how you hold your hands – beside your body, in your pockets, on the table, legs straight or crossed, apart or close together, back straight or bent, head up, down or to the side, body in a pose, relaxed or gathered, firm, military, stomp your foot, nod your head, etc.)
5️⃣. 🫂 APPROACH to the interlocutor (how far you stand from those you are talking to is part of your attitude: close 🤗, friendly, intimate 😘, do you invade personal space 💥 and get into the person's soul or do you keep your distance, do you even avoid getting close, are indifferent, distant 😶 etc.)
6️⃣. 👀 EYE (do you look into the interlocutor's eyes, support or avoid their gaze, do you look down, above, elsewhere, at other people 😒 for emotional support, anchor; frequency of blinking: rarely, staring 😳, glassy eyes – often, expresses emotion 🙄, insecurity, confusion)
7️⃣. 🤝 TOUCHING (kissing 😚, shaking hands 🤝, hugging 🤗, patting on the shoulder, taking the arm, leading from behind, taking the shoulder – for example when taking a picture with someone 📸 etc.)
8️⃣. 👗 CLOTHING AND ACCESSORIES ⌚️ (essential, because they form the first impression: clothes 👔, shoes 👠, jewelry 💍, colors 🟡, hairstyle 👩🦰/ haircut 👨🏻🦱/ beard 🧔♂️, perfume ✨️etc.)
