Side-by-side shortwave comparison between XHDATA D-109 and D-808, the results will surprise you!
This video is a full comparison of the SW capabilities on the new XHDATA D-109 and the popular D-808. It is an auto scan on each radio and then all received signals are identified. The D-109 picked up almost 20 more signals than the D-808 in the auto scan, which also ran much faster than the D-808. I performed the test within 30 minutes on both sets, to make sure conditions were equal. I used a 7 metre 23 feet external wire.
Interestingly, each radio picked up some signals that the other one did not. For example, the D-109 picked up VOA from Greenville clearly, as well as Radio Nacional de Amazonia. The D-808 picked up Radio Marti, which the D-109 did not. Keep in mind I only used the auto scan function for this test, to see what each radio would pick up. Both sets picked up some very distant signals, like Radio Vietnam and Voice of Korea.
