WILDCAMP RUINED Aborted camp due to large group of NEW AGE party campers took over the area!
Found a new area that was really beautiful, we scouted the area earlier in the week and were looking forward to a great wildcamp, I was going to test out my new Thermarest 2 in 1 Stuffsack/Pillow, however thats still in the bag!
Cooked on the Firebox Scout and had finally pitched the Terra Nova Pioneer 2 perfectly and was realy happy taking in the beauty and peacefulness of our new spot!
Unfortunately for us, we were approached by a man asking if we were planning on staying, which we obviously said yes, he asked if there were some other places so we informed him of a few spots nearby, however an hour later he returned with 8 or 9 others and some children with wheelbarrows and loads of equipment and as brazen as you like started setting up to have a party in this little bay that we had found. Obviously not with the same aims as Dave and I so after a chat it was made clear that they were there for a planned party for the next 3 days, so rather than make anything ugly infront of their children we decided to abort and be the better men, we left to the sound of Bongo's!
Key things for me about wild camping are, 1 Leave no trace, 2 do not impose yourself on anyone!
