How To Upgrade The Modem Firmware On The PinePhone Pro
Another video on the PinePhone Pro, but this one shows you the process to upgrade the firmware on the Quectel EG25-G modem. These instructions should work on both the PinePhone and PinePhone Pro.
The command to run to install the 'firmware' app is:
sudo apk add gnome-firmware-updater
The command doesn't work in my Arch Phosh. I had to install the application under the software program/application.
UPDATE:
The command for Arch is 'sudo pacman -S gnome-firmware'. Credit goes to LINMOBnet for proviing me this information!
Note I am not responsible if this bricks your phone. This will also void your warranty, so please consider doing this only if you REALLY want to fix the exploit that impacts the old firmware.
Please make sure your phone has a lot of charge and it being charged while doing this process.
