Have you ever wondered how bees make honey? A warning: it might ruin your appetite. A worker bee flies out of the hive, lands on flowers, and sucks up nectar. The nectar enters her honey crop. There, it reacts with enzymes, changing its structure—this is the first stage of the process. When the bee has collected enough nectar, she returns to the hive and regurgitates it into the mouth of another bee. They do this to reduce the water content of the nectar. This process continues until the nectar becomes thick. After this, it is placed in honeycomb. #animals
