Maizy has quadruplets!
Watch Maizy have 4 kids! Easy as pie! At first she had her head in a hay basket, maybe hoping she could avoid the whole thing, but she happened to be in with her doeling Shirley from last year who seemed to encourage her! Thanks to our awesome air bnb guests for noticing the first two were out and coming to get me! There will not be very much cheese this weekend but hopefully the new babies make up for it!
Many of you have watched the live cam for years and never been able to catch a birth! I put this video together for you from a combination of live cam footage and video that our Airbnb guests took. The two little girls staying over with their mom, were actually the ones who discovered that Maisy’s first two babies had been born! They came to find me in the cheese kitchen abday we were able to enjoy watching the second two be delivered together. It is always such a magical experience and these tiny tiny little babies are real wonders. This last wave of kidding season has gone exceptionally well! Two mamas have had seven perfect babies pretty much without any help at all! These kids were actually born at a reasonable hour. Also! Baby number one arrived at 11:16, number two was out by 11:38, the third arrived by 11:55, and the final baby was born at 12:02. Since they are pretty little, we will be making sure they get plenty of milk and offering a bottle to help mom out if the kids need some more to drink. One of the little girls who is visiting hopes to be of that one day, and I can only imagine that this experience will further fuel the fire for that dream job! 2 more mamas left to kid this season!
