Xiaomi appears to have a new budget Redmi phone on the way. The Redmi A1, not to be mistaken with the quite old Xiaomi Mi A1 (Mi 5x), was just featured in a couple of extensive leaks. First things first, though - Xiaomi just dropped an official teaser for the device, alongside some high-quality renders that showcase a couple of nice, soft pastel colors for the handset and a leather texture style finish for its back.
The teaser page also mentions a 5,000 mAh battery. As for the rest of the specs, we have to turn to one of the leaks. The Redmi A1 is said to pack a 6.52-inch, 1600 x 720 pixel, 20:9, HD+ display with a MediaTek Helio A22 chipset, coupled with LPDDR4X RAM and eMMC 5.1 storage. All of that, plus the 5,000 mAh battery with 10W charging, dual SIM and microSD card slots, 3.5mm jack and FM radio, will be packed inside a 164.9mm x 76.75mm x 9.09mm, 192g body.
The camera setup includes an 8MP, f/2.0 main snapper with an f/2.2 supplementary camera, likely a depth sensor. On the front - a 5MP, f/2.2 selfie. Other known features include Bluetooth 5.0 and 2.4GHz Wi-Fi n, as well as Android 12.
