iMovie HD 6 Running in macOS High Sierra
UPDATE: iMovie HD 6.0.5 works in macOS Mojave!
I just upgraded to macOS High Sierra, 10.13 and I needed to see if iMovie HD 6 (version 6.0.5) will still run in it. I've been editing content imported from my Sony DCR-HC85 MiniDV camcorder and I just wanted to make sure I wasn't wasting my time. That video is a review of the HC85 and it will be coming soon.
Why would you want to use this old version? Because the newer versions of iMovie drop every other line of resolution from the non-interlaced video (single field processing) and reduce the picture quality. I pretty much use the modern iMovie with all of my HD footage and screen capturing, but when I go to the MiniDV cameras, I use iMovie HD 6. As I say in the video, I can't tell you where to get a copy, but if you google around, you can find one that is stripped out of iLife '06. That way, you won't have to install iWeb, iDVD, iPhoto 6, and GarageBand 3.
