💥 Cochinita Pibil, a traditional recipe from Yucatecan cuisine. This original, easy, and delicious recipe brings you the taste of Latin America. The meat is wrapped in banana leaves, marinated with recado rojo (achiote), and spices that fill it with flavor. It's incredibly tender and delicious.
This recipe is traditionally prepared on the Yucatan Peninsula, buried in an earthen oven, which gives it that perfect flavor and tenderness.

💥INGREDIENTS Serves 6-8
3 kg pork (approx. 7 lbs)
150 g achiote paste
1/2 tbsp ground black pepper
1/2 tbsp dried oregano
1/4 tbsp ground cumin
2 tbsp salt (to taste)
8 cloves garlic
3 cloves
8 allspice berries
1/4 white onion
1 cup sour orange juice (substitute sour orange with 1/2 cup lemon juice and 1/2 cup sweet orange juice)
Banana leaves
Baking dish

2-3 Habanero Peppers
1/2 Tbsp Dried Oregano
1/2 Tbsp Ground Black Pepper
1 Pinch Ground Cumin
Salt to taste
1/4 Tbsp
1 Sour Orange
1/2 Cup Lime Juice (or 3/4 cup Sour Orange Juice)
