apache nginx container logging using Rsyslog | ELK Cluster ubuntu VM | HA Elasticsearch Cluster
1. Apache and Nginx container access and error logs are written to a single log file on the host machine (var/log/sachin.log) using rsyslog.
2. Kibana and Logstash are running on VM4; Logstash processes the logs and sends them to the Elasticsearch cluster [ Node-1(VM1), Node-2(VM2) and Node-3(VM3) ].
3. Kibana visualizes the logs, and there are 12 indices (Apache and Nginx access and error logs) with permissions assigned to 5 users.
4. The Elasticsearch cluster has three nodes, each running on a separate VM. If we shut down any one of the node VMs, our setup should continue to work smoothly without failure. Additionally, if we bring one node up while simultaneously bringing down the others, it should not impact the ELK setup; it should function smoothly during this process without using any commands to start or stop Elasticsearch nodes.
5. If we shut down Kibana and then restart it, it should resume from the same state where it was shut down.
