Today we talk about how to price a paver project profitably. We break this down by direct and indirect costs to be able to create a total that allows you to apply a profit margin to create your total amount to which you can apply a sales tax on top of to send to your client.
Direct Costs include anything that is specific to that project such as materials, labor, rentals, delivery, subcontractors, etc. Your Gross Profit for the project is your Revenue for that project less the Direct Costs. To know your Net Profit for that project, you would then take your Gross Profit and subtract the Indirect Costs.
Indirect Costs include anything that belongs to your business and moves from project to project. These include things like equipment, tools, marketing, professional fees, administrative staff, owner's salary, etc.
