Every gacha game has two types of players.
The one who logs in every day, builds spreadsheets,
clears endgame the first week it drops, and wants
the game to challenge them.
And the one who plays for the story, pulls for
characters they like, and hasn't touched abyss
in six months.
Same game. Same updates. Same developer.
Both of them are constantly disappointed.
And I think I finally understand why. It's not
bad game design. It's not lazy developers. It's
the business model itself — and it requires both
types of players while giving neither exactly
what they want.
This video is about why your favorite gacha
always has something that frustrates you. And
why that's probably never going to change.
Drop a comment — which one are you? The
spreadsheet builder or the story enjoyer? And
does your game actually know which one it's
making content for?
