Dana Chisnell, long-time civic designer, arrived at the United States Digital Service in October 2014 feeling like she had come from the future. She’s design researcher at the United States Digital Service, helping teams at the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service and at Veterans’ Affairs create better customer experiences. As she said, she is an elections geek and UX research nerd who has helped hundreds of people make better decisions, especially with government workers. Dana gives them to understand their users and test quickly their designs.
In her talks, Dana is dealing with designing democracy : Interactions between government and people had become cumbersome because government technology had not kept up. How could government refocus IT projects on the citizen experience?
She's the co-author, with Jeff Rubin, of Handbook of Usability Testing Second Edition. (Wiley, 2008)
