CALIFORNIA’S UTOPIAN SOCIALIST GHOST TOWN
Llano del Rio was a Socialist colony located in Llano, California from 1914 to 1918.
The colony was devised by Job Harriman as a Socialist Oasis away from a government run society.
Llano del Rio turned out to be too far from other settlements to develop a sustaining economy, and the water supply proved to be unreliable.
In 1918, the colony was abandoned and has been laid to waste ever since…
