Leaders Honor Hubert H. Humphrey
Former President Bill Clinton, Former Vice President Walter Mondale and Humphrey family members unveil the Hubert H. Humphrey Memorial, concluding a ceremony held Saturday, August 4, that featured remarks by current and former national and state leaders.
State Senator Richard Cohen hosted the event, which included comments by Governor Mark Dayton, Former Governor Arne Carlson, U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar, U.S. Senator Al Franken and Dr. Josie R. Johnson. Following his remarks, Vice President Mondale, who served in the United States Senate with Senator Hubert H. Humphrey, introduced President Bill Clinton. State Attorney General Hubert "Skip" Humphrey spoke on behalf of the family before the unveiling of the statue on the Minnesota Capitol Grounds.
