Substance Painter is a 3D painting application for PBR assets. It mimics the look of age, fractures, stains and decay via multi-channel particle brushes.
Substance Painter is designed to allow you to paint in full 3D. It is a great combination to have with Substance Designer (if you wish) as it can be used not only to paint full textures, but to also paint masks that can be used in Substance Designer for material filter generators such as the ones used to make edge wear and dirt. Substance Painter will not allow you to create custom substances though.
