Why Database Vendors Hate Our Guts
I love a good database, but unfortunately, I made them irrelevant, and they hate my guts. There isn't a database on planet Earth that talks to another database. Therefore, each table syntax, data type, SQL, and load utility differs. Database vendors have always assumed that moving data off is a monumental task, and the only way to join data is on a single system. In case your database vendor didn't get the memo: I can move a single table or 10,000 to any place in minutes or join data across any combination of databases in seconds.
