Kobra learns from the director about the prize—a sports complex. She realizes he cares only about sports (and she cares about the Literature Olympiad). Kobra conspires against basketball with the chemistry teacher and Zhanna. Sergeeva quarrels with Volkov and wants to fire him. He, with a noble heart, decides to resign voluntarily, so that Sergeeva won't have a conflict with the director.
