Jim Walker - The Grueling SAS Selection Process, All At 21 - #TheHills #TheJungle #MentalResilience

Ex SAS Jim Walker Discusses SAS Selection at 21 Years Old, Part 2

The SAS selection process is a grueling, multi-phase assessment for UK Special Forces, testing extreme physical and mental resilience through endurance marches ("the hills"), jungle training, and tactical courses, focusing on identifying true character, teamwork, and self-reliance rather than just fitness, with a high failure rate where only a fraction of candidates typically pass to earn the coveted sand-colored beret.

Our Military Trilogy Podcasts - We talk to Jim Walker about his days in the SAS, & his involvement in operation Barras & the SAS Selection process, becoming one of the youngest guys to ever be accepted in 22 Regiment.

Then Mark Smith, We discuss how he survived his tours in Afghanistan & Bosnia only to lose his leg after being hit by stray bullets in a training exercise. How he fought back to being crowned Britain's strongest disabled man twice, competing as a Body builder to now his Football career.

And finally Mike Lewis, Who had a childhood dream of joining the Military, Mike started his training & successfully made it into the Parachute regiment, after being deployed at 18 he made it through the ranks. After a fire fight with the Taliban in Helmand Province he was then caught in an artillery explosion & friendly fire, realising he had been hit & lost the bottom of his leg, been hit in his other leg, chest & head.

All the stories are an inspiration, Just listening to Jim Walker & the SAS selection process, but then with both Mark Smith & Mike Lewis are about never giving up, the determination they have gone through to recover & rebuild their lives.
