JON MOXLEY SQUASHES CM PUNK... What just happened on AEW Dynamite??
Jon Moxley vs CM Punk was not the title match I think anybody expected. In a shocking turn of events, the match only lasted three minutes with Moxley completely squashing and burying CM Punk to become the Undisputed AEW World Champion. And a lot of people aren’t happy about this booking decision. However, it does make you question what happens next? A lot of people assumed that CM Punk was going to win this match, turn heel and start a program with a returning babyface MJF. That might still be the plan, but this just seems like the most bizarre way to do it. I’ve seen people argue that this was a terrible decision for the people who bought tickets that wanted a really good match. Instead, they were given this match. I don’t agree with that take. Every match serves a purpose for the story. This just happened to be one of those matches that shocks everyone. The fans are supposed to be confused and disappointed. Disappointed that CM Punk returned too early, of course in the story. So I’m going to wait to see it unfold before I can fully judge this match. It seems like it’s apart of the longer story. We’ll have to wait and see. To be honest, there’s a chance that this was just Tony Khan’s way of putting his foot down. With the drama from CM Punk possibly being legit, there’s a chance that this was done to punish him letting him know that CM Punk isn’t above this company. If so, that was a bold move by Tony Khan. I doubt that though, but you never know. Regardless of why this happened, it definitely left us wondering what happens next. I’m guessing the only outcome is a Punk heel turn followed by an MJF rematch. What do you think? Let me know in the comments below. I’ll see you in the next one
