Create a polygon shapefile | Draw & Export Polygon data in different GIS data formats
Create Polygon Layer:
Polygon is a vector feature. It is used to represent the data with X and Y coordinates pairs which show an area. Basically it is used for creating vector layers of any particular area of interest. These shapes are often used to depict areas or regions on a map Ex: boundaries of Crop field area, Water body, forest area etc. These layers can be used for various purposes like: 1) Area Representation 2) Attribute Data Management 3) Urban Planning 4) Cartographic Display 5) Spatial Analysis and 6) Cadastral Mapping.
For creating Polygon data:
Step1: Logging in with your verified account. This ensures the security of your data.
Step2: After logging in, you can easily create the polygon layer. Click on the “create data” option. And then click “Create polygon Data" button. You can see create polygon data tools successfully opened on the right side of your screen.
Step3: Here, you have to draw the polygon feature. Click on your required area to plot the polygon. And name it.
Step4: The polygon layer created successfully.
