After 2017, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) once again expanded its political influence. In 2025, the BJP and its allies formed governments in 21 states, marking the first time since 2017 that the party has come to power in such a large number of states. This includes a recent victory in Delhi after 26 years, where the BJP won 48 out of 70 seats.
