What does a day in the life of an electrical engineer actually look like?
In this video, I take you through my morning routine, full workday, and evening wind-down with family as I work from home as an electrical engineer in the power industry.
I work as a substation protection and controls engineer, so my day includes project meetings, drawing reviews, team coordination, and checking one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and breaker control circuits.
I also explain what protection and controls engineering is, how it relates to substations and the electrical grid, and what types of drawings power engineers review when designing and protecting power system equipment like circuit breakers, relays, and control circuits.
