World Octopus Day - October 8
Octopuses are very intelligent and able to experience emotions. They have nine brains! One in each arm and one in their head. They can use tools, problem-solve, play and be curious, recognize individual faces, and are considered one of the most intelligent species of animal in the entire world! They have lived on Earth for 300 million years; that means they pre-date even the dinosaurs. The main aim of this celebration is to create awareness about the uniqueness of this species of animal and why they need protection.
