A supercapacitor instead of a BIOS "battery" in a laptop
Replacing the BIOS battery in a laptop with a supercapacitor.
I'd like to point out right away that the BIOS power source can be either a regular, non-rechargeable battery, or a rechargeable battery.
A battery can be replaced with a supercapacitor, but a battery cannot, as the supercapacitor simply has no source to charge.
