Hugo Mudie - Interview (Montreal, 2013)
Oh! Yeah.This interview was also something like a punk milestone for us. In 2013, I traveled in Montreal and during my stay there, I filmed a totally diy documentary with a pact of four amazing people. One of the interviews I had the honour to conduct for the needs of our documentary A Unique Punk Landscape was with this cool dude. Hugo (Mudie) is a key figure in Montreal Punk scene not only because he's the frontman of The Sainte Catherines which during the early zeros released a record with Fat Wreck Chords the first ever to be released from a Quebecoise band (Dancing for Decadence) but because he's also the organizer of Pouzza FEST the equivelent festival of the American the ''Fest''.
This interview was so random and on the spot that is the epitomy of random. Even I, the randomest guy ever thought that we probably not going to make this interview, but he was so cool and kind that he agreed to talk to us in the end.
So we met with Hugo in Cafe Chaos in downtown Montreal because he was djing that night. During a 20 minute break he had we did this rad interview with him in the back of the bar's alley. The interview is mostly focused on the Montreal punk scene, his youth days and of course about punk and politics.
