Most individuals can recall a moment when they entered cold water. Initially, it felt icy until they adapted to the temperature. Eventually, a sense of numbness set in. Interestingly, across all cultures, on a subconscious level, when one experiences this coolness, the brain suppresses messages that trigger inflammation and shifts its focus towards healing.
Now, picture yourself standing in cold water, with it reaching up to your knees. As you feel the cold, you'll notice one of your fingers lifting. Take a step further until the water reaches your hips, and indeed, your finger will respond as the water reaches your tummy. Perfect.
I can't say for sure if you'll feel the cold move from your hips to your knees or all the way down to your toes. However, what we do know is that as your right wrist sinks below the water's surface, it may also begin to feel numb, and, yes, your finger will lift—no need for explanation, even if you're lying in bed.
