Here, I just out of the blue checked my air layer on an oak tree that I want to possibly transfer to our new land. We actually air layered in the wrong part of the season which was winter and it’s just taking off because of the spring and summer time. The beginning of spring, I would say is the best time for propagating plants but I have seen some work in summer and fall.
This is a great way to not have to spend so much money over and over on purchasing trees. You can sale them, use them, trade or whatever. These will also, rather small or large bear fruit the first year. However I think buidling a great root system is priority to have a great long lasting 🌱 and then you’ll have fruit in abundance.
You can ask a neighbor to air layer their tree for a little money or for free. There’s many ways to propagate this is just one of my favorite. I’ll be showing other ways to propigate very soon.
