The Great British Sewing Bee 2023 Roundup - Episode 3
The Great British Sewing Bee is back on the BBC with 12 new contestants joining judges Patrick Grant and Esmé Young and host Sara Pascoe for the chance to be crowned 2023’s star sewist. Here at Minerva, we’re so excited about the brand-new series; join Vicki and Natalie as they share their take on each episode - expect giggles, gossip and oodles of gorgeous fabrics!
Throughout this series, the duo will be chatting about the challenges and themes in each episode, the fabulous contestants and all things sewing! As well as sharing their favourite makes from the show, Vicki and Natalie also showcase what they would sew for each challenge. In episode three, the contestants are honoring the roots of West African sewing. In the pattern challenge, the sewists create a simplified Batakari from beautiful hand-woven Daboya fabric. The transformation challenge centers around the art of draping on a dress form with bold Adire prints. To finish, this week’s made-to-measure is a celebration of the prestigious African Boubou.
